We put Kian up on a horse at 10 months. I know we sound crazy, but I swear it was incredible sensory integration therapy. Kian is now two years and 3 months and he has been riding most every week since then. His favorite thing is to trot. We always make him wait until the end of the lesson so "the horse can get warmed up." He also loves to go over the poles. Now the teacher makers him go up on three point like the real jumping horseback riders when he goes over the poles, so he is, in effect, on his hands and knees on a moving horse. It is really quite extraordinary in terms of balance and strength training.
